Penny has a Korean friend laughing over these translations!

Hello, dear readers. It is a new year. Been a while. Apparently, one of my girls is taking language classes in college. She was like, hey, can you give me some Korean practice? I was like, you're taking Korean? Nah, Korean literature. But it would be funny because we used to train at you know where. So I was like, you know what would be fun? Translate some of Kim's folk songs sung to us in class! It's not easy to come by old COL and JSW songs, but fortunately we have an in!

So I just happened to know a former student who would have the old books or something. I contacted him, and his friend, and both were there. He was like, I don't have any more audio tapes or the old books, but I do have an unpublished Jung SuWon songbook.

I was like, oh heck really? I might have known you would have a copy! Can I get a printout?

Did me one better. Sent me the copy and the Korean songs too!

Joked about the divorce papers. Ha. I might have known he would rib us about that. You see, 10 years ago, we had fun with that one when COL sent us fake divorce papers. We were not married!

So even though his girlfriend, er x, wrote a song, and even though his friend also wrote a few, it was okay since those were not to be used anyway.

Well, we got the copy. It was hilarious. He and his friend had gone through and translated the Korean for us. Penny would not get any credit. It would be considered extra credit, if that existed in college, which it does not.

It was still funny to read over the gibberish we had to chant in Korean in class. It's literally nonsense, from a short about a cat lover, to a rabbit school, to a money plan, wheras getting bank is what Kimmy liked best.

Hope you are all doing well out there.

Marie
